Choix d’artistes
Institut Neerlandais, Paris, FR 24 May / 8 July 2007
At the invitation of the 50-year-old Institut Néerlandais, Han Nefkens and Hilde Teerlinck (director of the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais in Dunkirk) co-designed this exhibition, which emphasises the links between Dutch and French artists. For Choix d’artistes, Nefkens and Teerlinck asked seven Dutch contemporary artists from the H+F Collection to each invite a French artist with whose universe they feel a connection.

The proposal resulted in the following ‘invitations’:
Gerald Van der Kaap: Jean-Charles Hue
Hans van der Meer: Luc Moullet
Juul Hondius: Laurent Grasso
Martine Stig: Luc Delahaye
Otto Berchem: Michael Blum
Viktor & Rolf: Jean-Baptiste Claude Odiot
Daan van Golden: Yves Klein

ArtAids

The ArtAids foundation was set up in 2006 at Han Nefkens’ initiative. ArtAids fights AIDS, with the substantial and monetary power of art as its most important weapon. ArtAids invites leading artists to produce work that is inspired by AIDS and related problems. These works of art are used not only to raise the public’s consciousness and to encourage their involvement but also to generate funds to support projects throughout the world aimed at preventing and fighting AIDS.
